Observation of analgesic effects of intra-articular ropivacaine after knee arthroscopy

Objective To observe the difference in analgesia effects of different ropivacaine in various doses used intra-articularly after the knee arthroscopy procedure.Methods Sixty patients performed knee arthroscopy under CSEA were randomly divided into 4 groups(n=30),at the end of operation 10 mL of different ropivacaine the groupⅠ、Ⅱ、Ⅲ(0.25%,0.375%,0.5%)were injected intra-articularly.The antalgic effects of ropivacaine in various doses based on standard of VAS were observed at the 2,4,8 and 12 h after operation.Results The 2,4,8 and 12 h postoperative VAS scores were much lower in group Ⅳ than those in groupⅠ、Ⅱand Ⅲ(P0.01).Moreover,significant differences in degree of patients satisfaction with analgesic efficacy were observed between groupⅠ、Ⅱand Ⅲ(P0.05).No other adverse effects were noted.Conclusion Intra-articular administration of 0.5% ropivacaine may provide superior post-operative analgesia without side effects.It is an excellent regimen for analgesia after knee arthroscopy.
