Abstract
Objective:To investigate the effects of ginkgetin aglycone(GA) on the proliferation of human umbilical venous endothelial cells,ECV304,and so as to explore the feasibility of GA in protecting vessel endothelial cells. Methods: ECV304 were cultured with GA of different concentrations for different hours.Cell proliferation rates were determined with MTT assay. Results: ECV304 cultured with GA of 50~6.25 mg/L for 6 to 48 hours were normal morphologically.Cell proliferation rates of different drug-groups all exceeded 100%,which was different from that of control group significantly(P0.05).Proliferation rates of ECV304 cultured with GA of 25~6.25mg/L for 6 to 24 hours increased along with the increase of GA's concentration and action time to some extend.Differences among the groups were significant(P0.05).Conclusions: GA promotes proliferation of ECV304 in a dose and time dependant manner.GA may have some protective effect on vessel endothelial cells.
