Abstract

Objective Explore the effects of the tension-free hernia repair on the treatment of hernia.Methods Clinical data of 149 patients undergoing tension-free mesh-plug hernia repair from May 1999 to Aug 2007 were collected and analyzed retrospectively.Results A follow-up from 1 to 100 months in 139 out 149 cases found recurrence in 5 cases and other postoperative complications in 13 cases.Conclusion Tension-free mesh-plug hernia repair can decrease the recurrence and other postoperative complications especially for senile patients.
