Clinical Analysis of Mesh-Plug Tension-free Hernia Repair for Inguinal Hernia in Elderly Patients

Objective:To explore the clinical effects of Mesh-Plug tension-free hernia repair in the treatment of inguinal hernia in elderly patients.Methods:The clinical data were retrospectively analyzed of 89 elderly cases with inguinal hernia receiving Mesh-Plug tension-free hernia repair.Results:All the operations were successfully.The operating time was 45-90min(mean 52.3±7.6 min).After operation,3 cases were with urine retention,2 case with scrotal edema,3 cases with wound infection.During the follow-up(3months-3 years,mean 1.7±0.9 years),2 cases recurred.Conclusions:Compared with traditional hernia repair,Mesh-Plug tension-free hernia repair has the advantages of local tension-free,easier surgical operation,quicker postoperative recovery,fewer complications and lower recurrence rate,therefore it is a reasonable hernia repair for inguinal hernia in elderly patients.
