Abstract

The genetic diversity of 15 Lilium cultivars and their relationships were investigated using RAPD markers. Out of 156 oligonucleotidc primers initially screened, 15 were chosen that together generated 218 reproducible bands, of which 216 (PPB 99.8%) were polymorphic. The results showed obvious differentiation between different cultivars strains. Cluster analysis indicated that all the cultivars could be grouped into three clades and the Asiatic Hybrids is more familiar to the oriental Hybrids than the Longiflorum Hybrids. Moreover, the cultivars that have the similar flower color in the same hybrid strain are more familiar than others.
