Abstract

Objective To discuss the correlation between lipoprotein(a)[Lp(a)]and coronary heart disease(CHD) and coronary artery stenosis in Han people group from Bazhou area of Xinjiang. Methods The patients with CHD(n=443,CHD group) hospitalized in Bazhou People's Hospital and diagnosed by coronary angiography(CAG) from Jan.2007 to June,2011 were selected by using case controlled research. The control group(n=452) included patients hospitalized at the same time with negative results of CAG or without CHD diagnosed by other examinations. The value of venous serum Lp(a) and other biochemical indexes were detected in all patients 24 hours after fasting. The relationship between high level of Lp(a) or other factors and CHD,and relationship between high level of Lp(a) and severity of CHD were investigated. Results The morbidity of high level of Lp(a) was 23.02% in CHD group and higher than that in control group(15.04%,P0.01).The difference in level of serum Lp(a) had statistical significance between two group(P0.01).The analysis of multivariate Logistic regression showed that high level of Lp(a) was an independent risk factor of CHD(OR=1.675,95%CI:1.184~3.115;P=0.009) after adjusting some risk factors including age, smoking, hypertension, diabetes and dyslipidemia. The morbidity of high level of Lp(a) would increase as the increase of diseased coronary vessels in CHD group(P=0.026),and level of Lp(a) would increase too(P=0.019).Conclusion High level of Lp(a) is an independent risk factor of CHD in the people group in this study. The morbidity of high level of Lp(a) is positively correlated to the level of Lp(a) and severity of coronary stenosis, which can be taken as the predictor for the onset and severity of CHD.
