Dealing with the Challenge of Trade Protectionism to WTO

Trade protectionism under the background of financial crisis is having severe impact on multilateral trading system with the target for trade liberalization.It can be seen that some WTO members are breaking their promises,abandoning principles and abusing the WTO rules,While some are insisting on free trade and rectifying protectionism.This paper examines WTO rules and its enforcement mechanism in the context of economic crisis,intends to make legal distinction between trade protection and trade protectionism,explores the reflection of trade protectionism in practice,tries to point out the deficiency of WTO rules in the course of fighting against trade protectionism,and probes the methods of handling with protectionism.
