The new trade protectionism has taken place under global financial crisis, which is very similar to The Smoot-Hawley Tariff Act triggered the Great Depression in 1930’s. Thus, in order to cope with financial crisis and resist trade protectionism currently, it’s necessary to strengthen WTO rules and discipline, and abide by more stable Multilateral Trade System.
