Abstract
Objective To investigate microvessel density(MVD) and the expression of CD44v6 and VEGF in primary gastric carcinoma and to evaluate its relationship with the tumor oncogenesis and biological malignant behavior. Methods The specimens from 59 cases of primary gastric carcinoma,10 cases of dysplastic gastric mucosa and 13 cases of chronic superficial gastritis were analyzed by HE staining.MaxVisionTM immunohistochemical method was used. Results The positive results of(66.1%)and VEGF(71.2%)in primary gastric carcinoma were significantly higher in gastric carcinoma compared with that in control group(P0.05),MVD was significantly higher in gastric carcinoma compared with that in control group(P0.05),There were also correlation between CD44v6,VEGF,MVD and serosal invasion, metastasis of gastric carcinoma(P0.05),There was close positive correlation between the expression of CD44v6,VEGF and MVD respectively. Conclusion MVD,CD44v6 and VEGF are valuable indicators for the biological characteristics of primary gastric carcinoma and helpful in distinguishing malignant from benign tumors.
