Abstract
Guo Yu and Zuo Zhuan were two classics which are of great significance as historical documents and literary masterpieces in pre-Qin period.The two works are similar in themes and thought: both of them are conceptually tending to take people as source point,to praise etiquettes,to reveal misbehavior of tyrants,and to eulogize patriotism.The two works are basically different in forms of representation: Guo Yu is of the country-based speech style in a relatively simple way while Zuozhuan is of the chronicle narration style in a rhetorical way.
