Abstract
In 19811-1981, we surveyed parasitic helminthes, of the wild true deer animals of Shaanxi Province, from the caecum and large intestine of Reeve's muntjac we found one species of nema-tode belonging to the family Trichonematidae, subgenus Hysteracrum of genus Oesophagosiom-um. These specimens were indentificd same to the species of Oesophagostomum (Hysteracrum) sp. Yen, 1973, from Indian muntjac of Yannan Province and as a new species, it is supple-mently named and reported as follows.Oesophagostomum (Hysteracrum) mun(?)iacum sp. nov. (figs. 1-9).Body comparativly small and straight, white in color, cephalic vesicle expanded and with conspicuous lateral alae. External leaf-crown consists of 10 shorter and wider elements and internal leaf-crown consists of 20 small elements. Head with 4 submedian papillae and 2 am-phids. Buccal capsule ladder like, ratio of width to depth 2:1. Oesophageal funnel inconspicuous. Cervical papillae asymmetric, located in front or behind of oesophageal extremity or at oesophageal extremity.Male: Body 4.027 (3.780-4.255) mm in length and 0.168(0.150-0.190)mm in width. Ce phaljc vesicle 0.114(0.110-0.123)mm in length and 0.105(0.100-0.108)mm in width. Laternal alae 2.120(1.550-2.620)mm in length and 0.100-0. 110 mm in width. Oesophagus 0.195(0.180-0.200)mm in length. Nerve ring 0.109 (0.105-0.110)mm from anterior end. Cervical papillae: left 0.224(0.195-0.250)mm, right 0.227(0.210-0.255)mm from anterior end respectively. The bursa consists of 3 lobes. Dorsal ray 0.154(0.150-0.160)mm in length. Genital cone conspicuously projected, its ventral lip longer than dorsal lip, dorsal lip shorter and wider than ventral lip and with a pair elongate vesicular papillae at two laterals. Spicules equal and similar, 0.424(0.410-0.440)mm in length, ratio of length between spicules and body are 1:9.5. Guber-naculum 0.032(0.030-0.038)mm in length and 0.025(0.021-0.030)mm in width.Female: Body 4.524(4.284-4.536)mm in length and 0.094(0.080-0.100)mm in width. Cephalic vesicle 0.113(0.105-0.118)mm in length and 0.076(0.065-0.100)mm in width. Lateral alae 2.741(2.535-3.090)mm in length and 0.017(0.011-0.021)mm in width. Oesophagus 0.197 (0.190-0.200)mm in length. Nerve ring 0.116/0.110-0.120)mm from anterior end. Cervical papillae: left 0.223(0.193-0.238)mm, right 0.225(0.205-0.245)mm, from anterior end respectively. Vulva 0.510(0.500-0.550)mm to the caudal end. Vulvar lips possess conspicuous tumor-form projection. Vagina 0.033(0.030-0.040)mm in length. Tail slender and longer, anus 0.320(0.290-0.330)mm to the posterior end. Eggs in uterine extremity, long-elliptical , 0.06l (0.055-0.063)mm in length and 0.029(0.028-0.030)mm in width.Host: Mnntiacus reevesii Ogilby and Muntiacus muntiak vuginalis Beddaert.Location: caecum and large intestine.Locality: Zhenping, Langao, and Zhenba County (31°80'-32°60'N, 108-109°60'E), Sha-anxi Province and Kangma, Shuangjiang County (23°-24°N, 99°-100°E), Yunnan Province, China.Type specimens: holotype ♂, allotype ♀, paratype 118♂♂, 106♀♀ are deposited in the Sha-anxi Institute of Zoology, Xian.
