Abstract
This paper deals with two new species of the genus Marshallagia collected from QinghaiProvince. All the type specimens are deposited in the Qinghai College of Animal Husbandryand Veterinary Medicine. Marshallagia qinghaiensis Luo, Chen et Wu sp. nov. (figs. 1-8) Body filliform, yellowish. Cuticle with 32 longitudinal ridges. Mouth opening surroundedby slightly dilated cuticular expansion. The nerve ring located at anterior about 1/3 of oeso-phagus. Cervical papillae present. In the male a pair of prebursal papillae present. Male: Body 7.067(6.452-7.646)mm in length and 0.136(0.115-0.168)mm in maximumwidth at prebursal region. Excretory pore to the anterior end 0.266(0.247-0.290)mm. Cer-vical papillae 0.304(0.276-0.329)mm to the anterior end. Bursa well developed with distinctdorsal lobe. The dorsal ray 0.142(0.119-0.188)mm in length and bifurcated at the distal 1/4into 2 branches with 0.035(0.030-0.046)mm in length, each branch giving off a externolate-ral branch at its 1/3, each branch end subdivided into 2 terminal twigs, external twig slender, internal round. Two spicules yellowish-brown in colour, equal in length and similar in shape,0.184(0.175-0.208)mm in length, and 0.026(0.023-0.030)mm in maximum width, and it tri-furcated in the distal 1/4 into three branches of about the similar thickness. The latero-ventralbranch 0.048(0.043-0.053)mm in length, and its distal end bends to the middle and surroun-ded by a membrance. The medio-ventral bran ch 0.038(0.036-0.046)mm in length. The dor-sal branch is the shortest in the three branches, 0.028(0.026-0.033)mm in length, and its dis-tal end bends to the middle like a spoon in shape. Cubernaculum absent. Female Body 8.562(7.226-9.291)mm in length, 0.137(0.119-0.158)mm in width. Vulvaslit-shaped, 1.842(1.581-2.129)mm to the posterio end, and covered with two cuticular pro-jecting flaps or without. The combined length of ovijectors, including sphincters, 0.462(0.394-0.526)mm. Anus 0.217(0.181-0.254)mm to the posterior end. The tail is conical inshape. Eggs in ovijectors 0.195(0.165-0.235)×0.086(0.073-0.099)mm. Discussion This species is closely similar to M. tarmanus Qi, Li et Li, 1963; M. dentis-picularis Assadov, 1954; M. lasaensis Li et Kung, 1965 and M. marshalli Ranson, 1907. Butdiffers from latter four species distinctly in: Body 6.452-7.646mm in length. Spicules shor-ter, 0.175-0.208mm in length and trifurcated in the distal 1/4 into three branches of aboutthe similar thickness. The distal end of the dorsal branch looks like a spoon in shape. Dorsalray bifurcated nearby the distal end 1/4. Gubernaculum absent. Female 7.226-9.291mm in length. Tail shorter. Anus 0.181-0.254mm to the posterior end. Vulva 1.581-2.129mm tothe posterior end and covered with two cuticular projecting flaps or without. Host Pseudois nayaur. Location Abomasum. Types Holotype, allotypt, paratypes 14, 9, Qilian County (38.10°N,100.12°E), Qinghai Province, November-December, 1981. Marshallagia qilianensis Luo, Zhang et Bai sp. onv.(figs. 9-16) Body filliform, yellowish. Cuticle with 38 longitudinal ridges. Mouth opening surroun-ded by slightly dilated cuticular expansion. Cervical papillae situated at about the middle ofoesophagus. In the male a pair of prebursal papillae present. Male: Body 11.704(10.872-12.936)mm in length and 0.191(0.181-0.198)mm in width atprebursal region. The dorsal ray 0.286 (0.244-0.366)mm in length and bifurcated at the dis-tal 1/3 into 2 branches with 0.102(0.076-0.122)mm in length, each branch end subdivided into2 small twigs. Two spicules equal in length and similar in shape, 0.256(0.237-0.280)mmin length and 0.027(0.026-0.036)mm in width. At the distal 1/4 each divided into three bran-ches The latero-ventral branch is long and 0.067(0.063-0.069)mm in length and its dis-tal end bends to the middle. The medio-ventral branch 0.058(0.056-0.059)mm in length, andthe distal end is sharp. The dorsal branch short and wide, 0.042(0.033-0.049)mm in length, with its ending in sharp tip, and bent to the dorsal side. Gubernaculum present. 0.048(0.045-0.049)mm in length, 0.018(0.01
