Abstract

Objective To investigate the detection value of platelet parameters including platelet counts(PLT),mean platelet volume(MPV) and platelet distribution width(PDW) in thrombocytopenia. Methods Abbott CD-1800 Hematology Analyzer was applied to measuring the platelet parameters including platelet counts(PLT),mean platelet volume(MPV) and platelet distribution width(PDW).Results Compared with those of the control group, platelet count and MPV were significantly lower in aplastic anemia(AA) group and acute leukemia group(P0.01).PDW didn't change significantly in AA group, but increased markedly in acute leukemia group(P0.01).In idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura(ITP) group, platelet count decreased significantly(P0.01),while MPV and PDW increased obviously(P0.05 and P0.01).Conclusion PLT,MPV and PDW are very useful parameters for differential diagnosis of thrombocytopenia.
