Investigation of Plateelet Relevance Parameter by Beckman-Coulter LH 750 Hematology and Its Clinical Application

Objectives To investigate the platelet relevance parameter(MPV、PCT and PDW)by Beckman-Coulter LH 750 hematology analyzer for establishing the reference range of platelet in shantou district,and to observe the changes of platelet relevance parameter in abnormalcondition.Methods lnvestigated 2000 cases of normal platelet (100×109/L~300×109/L)and 200 cases oflow platelet(100×109/L)and 200 cases high platelet(300×109/L)by LH 750.Results In 2000 cases of normal platelet,the mean of MPV was 7.61 fl(6.03 fl~9.17 fl),PCT was 0.181 %(0.109 %~0.253 %),PDW was 16.91 %(15.38 %~18.44 %).In 200 cases of low platelet,the mean of MPV was 8.73 fl,PDW was 17.55 %,there was very significant difference between the low platelet group and normal platelet group(P0.01),In 200 cases of high platelet,the mean of MPV was 7.70 fl,PDW was 16.53 %,no significant difference between the high platelet group and normal platelet group.Conclusions MPV increase with platelet decrease and PDW increase was evident.In cases of low platelet,observe the changes of MPV and PDW can know production about large platelet.The overall analysis of platelet、MPV and PDW is very valuable in clinical application.
