Nasolacrimal stent for the treatment of chronic dacryocystitis

Objective To observe the curative effect of chronic dacryocystitis treated by nasolacrimal stent.Methods Fifty-nine cases (63 eyes) of chronic dacryocystitis were placed special nasolacrimal stent.Digital subtraction dacryocystography was performed before and after the stent placement. Analyse the curative effect of post-operation.Results The success rate of operation was 96.82%,the effective rate were 98.25%,97.96% and 92.31% at three months,six months,twelve months of post-operation in 57 eyes.Conclusion Using nasolacrimal stent is a safe,effective method to treat chronic dacryocystitis.
