Treatment of Interventional artificial nasolacrimal canal Placement for Chronic Dacryocystitis

Abstract

Objective To evaluate the effectiveness of artificial nasolacrimal canal placement for treatment of chronic dacryocystitis.Methods 24 patients (26 eyes) with chronic dacryocystitis received nasolacrimal stent placement.The success rate of the stent placement was 100%.The period of postoperative follow-up was 3 months.The symptoms completely disappeared in 23 eyes.Conclusion The interventional nasolacrimal stent placement is a safe, simple and effective method for the treatment of chronic dacryocystitis.
