Comparation of the anesthetic effects and influence on cardiovascular system of articaine and lidocaine in vitalteeth preparation

Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the anesthetic effect and influence on cardiovascular system of articaine and lidocainein teeth preparation of vital teeth. Methods: 138 abutments in 93 patients with vital teeth were randomly divided intoarticaine group and lidocaine group. Pain intensity were scaled by VAS. Pulse and blood pressure were observed beforeand 0, 3, 5 minutes after drugs administration. Results: The anesthetic effect of articaine was significant better thanlidocaine (P 0.01). No significant changes of pulse and blood pressure were found during the whole process. Conclusions:Articaine is an efficient and safe dental anesthesia drug.
