Clinical observation of local anesthesia in extraction of teeth with articaine.

Abstract
Objective To compare the efficacy of local anesthesia using 4% articaine(primacane) and 2% lidocaine in extraction of teeth.Methods One hundred patients(122 teeth) were selected and divided randomly into two groups.They were applied by submucous infiltration anesthesia or submucoperiosteal anesthesia with articaine or lidocaine respectively.The degree of pain during the injection and extraction of teeth was then observed and analyzed.Results The pain degree of anesthesia using articaine was much slighter than that of lidocaine during the injection and extraction of teeth.The well-anesthesia rate was 96.77%.Conclusion Articaine is a safe and effective anesthetic medicine for oral surgery.
