Abstract

The technology of anther culture was studied by using 7 watermelon varieties. More callus were formed on MS+KT 1.5 mg/L+6-BA 2.0 mg/L+NAA 1.0 mg/L,MS+KT 1.5 mg/L+6-BA 2.0 mg/L+NAA 1.5 mg/L and MS+KT 0.5 mg/L+6-BA 0.5 mg/L+NAA 2.0 mg/L. The wild watermelon 331 produced 68 callus per 100 anthers on MS+0.5 mg/L KT+0.5 mg/L 6-BA +2.0 mg/L NAA. When the selected callus were grown on MS+2.0 mg/L Triacontanol+0.5 mg/L IBA,green shoot formed from the cullus. Plantlets were obtained by transferring the shoots to 1/2 MS+0.2 mg/L IBA+1.0 mg/L IAA.
