Abstract
The developed western countries that have already experienced modernity question the modernity one after another, which has provided a lesson for our countryside being marching from tradition to modernization. The questioning of the present West about subject, identity and consumerism of modernity have reflected the limitation of modernity itself. Modernization construction of the countryside in China ought to break the limitations, build the harmonious countryside, keep its characteristics, guide the peasant to run after and yearn for the survival state of non-materialization, so as to realize higher level of modernization different from the historical pattern of modernization of the West.
