Clinical Observation on Synergy of Waichengshan Point after Treating Unilateral Lumbar Intervertebral Disc Herniation

Objective:To observe the clinical synergies of adding Waichengshan acupoint combined with physiotherapy treatment for unilateral lumbar intervertebral disc herniation. Methods:Both inpatients and outpatients of 60 patients with unilateral lumbar disc herniation were randomly divided into two groups: the treatment group(30 cases),the control group(30 cases).The control group used conventional acupuncture of the lumbar disc herniation combined with physiotherapy.The treatment group in the control group treated with acupuncture Waichengshan point,observe 5 days after treatment of low back and leg pain(VAS,JOA)score changes. Results:Five days after treatment,low back pain score and lumbar activity of the treatment and control groups were improved before treatment.There was no significant difference about total effectiveness of two groups(P0.05),but the difference of pain score of two groups was statistically significant(P0.05).Conclusion:Waichengshan acupoint treatment for unilateral lumbar disc herniation has a certain synergy.
