Effects of polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) on the outcome of the patients receiving in vitro fertilization and embryo transfer(IVF-ET)treatment

Abstract

Objective To study the effects of PCOS on the outcome of the patients receiving IVF-ET treatment. Methods In this study, two groups of patients, tubal and PCOS factor infertility, received IVF-ET treatment Results In PCOS group, the patients have the highest rate of ovarian hyperstimulation (OHSS), but the similar fertility rate and pregnant rate per embryo transfer, compared with the tubal group. The preg-nant group with PCOS has a higher fertility rate. Conclusions Patients with PCOS can get a higher pregnant rate and a lower risk in IVF-ET treatment after proper pretreatment.
