Abstract
Objective To observe the efficacy of vitrectomy in severe traumatic vitreous hemorrhage.Methods Vitrectomy was performed to 51 cases with severe traumatic vitreous hemorrhage and combined with related surgery to treat the complications due to the hemorrhage.Results The post-operative visual acuity improved in 36 eyes (70.59%) and decressed in 2 eyes (3.92%) The post-operative visual acuily did not change in other 13 eyes (25.49%).Conclusion Vitrectomy is an effective method to treat severe traumatic vitreous hemorrhage.The proper time for surgery is 10~14 days after injury.
