Abstract

Objective To summarize the CT features of billiary cystadenocarcinoma, and to evaluate the value of diagnosis with CT. Methods The clinical data and CT manifestation of five patients with billiary cystadenocarcinoma confirmed by pathology were analyzed retrospectively. Plain scan and three phase enhanced scan were performed in all cases. Results The five patients were female with the age of 58~76. The tumor were located in the left in three cases, right in one, and both side in one. The five patients suffered from billiary cystadenocarcinoma with multilocular cyst, thick or thin cyst wall and internal septation. All five cases were revealed as cystic mass in CT scan. Three cases had mural nodules and /or papillary excrescences. one had excrescences in the cystic lesions. one had bleeding in the cyst. After intravenous contrast injection, the cyst wall, septations and masses were enhanced in CT scan. Conclusion CT can show the characteristics of billiary cystadenocarcinoma, such as irregular thickening of internal septa, mural nodules, papillary excrescences, bleeding in the cyst. CT is very important and reliable in diagnosis of billiary cystadenocarcinoma.
