TEACHING INTONATION TO CHINESE STUDENTS OF ENGLISH

In teaching English pronunciation,intonation often poses difficulties to Chinese teachers.This paper presents an approach of intonation teaching which consists of the following points:1)compare Chinese and English intonation;2)analyze the structure of English intonation;3)guide practice through imita- tion;4)emphasize the functions of English intona- tion.
