Abstract
Objective To compare the efficacy and side efffects of venlafaxine and sertraline in the treatment of obsessive-compulsive disorders(OCD).Methods Seventy-two patients met CCMD-3 for OCD were randomly assigned to two groups. One groups was treated with venlafaxline and the other with sertraline for 8 weeks. The efficacy was measured was Yale-Brown Obsessive Compulsive Scale(Y-BOCS)and Hamilton Depression Scale(HAMD).The side effects were determined by the Treatment Emergent Symptom Scale(TESS).Results There were no significant between two groups in overall response showed by the reduction rates Y-BOCS and HAMD total scores. There was no significant difference in serious and the occur quotiety of the side-reactoin.Conclusion Venlafaxine was an effective drug in the treatment of OCD.
