Correlation study on anxiety condition and social support in coronary heart disease patients

Objective To explore the relationship between anxiety and social support of CHD patients,and to provide theoretical evidence for clinical therapeutic effect.Methods A basic questionnaire,self-rating anxiety scale(SAS),Perceived Social Support Scale(PSSS)were used among 80 CHD patients.Results The anxiety score of CHD patients was 42.97±7.61,and significantly higher than the normal population(T=10.78,P0.01),The anxiety scores among patients with different education,occupation,family income and treatment methods were statistically difference.The average score of social support was 63.28±9.72,and significant difference with different educational level,occupation,family income.The anxiety score and perceived social support score of CHD patients was negatively related(r=-0.519,t=-5.362,P=0.000).Conclusion There were obvious anxiety in patients with CHD,and the anxiety and social support was closely related.The anxiety scores were higher and social support scores lower with junior educational,farmers,workers' identity,and lower family income.
