Abstract

From the idea of literary value the theory of Lin Yutang's essay in 1930's may be regarded as unique concerning about wisdom and the orientation of value.As far as the nature of content is concernedhe lays more stresses on the value and significance of society at an angle of individual.As far as the orientation of value is concernedhe always puts the east and west culture together in order to exceed and surmount his original idea of value.As far as psychological feature is concernedhe advocates rational principles of self-expression and pursuing human life.
