Abstract
Objective To investigate the relationship between dynamic changes of high sensitivity C-reactive protein and the clinical prognosis of acute stroke.Methods One hundred and fifty-seven patients with acute stroke were divided into survival group(n=128)and death group(n=29)according to the prognosis,or infarction group(n=113)and hemorrhage group(n=44)according to the cause of disease.The blood pressure,the Chinese Stroke Scale,blood biochemical tests and the level of high sensitivity C-reactive protein were measured in 1,7,14,and 21 days after the onset of stroke and compared between group.Results After acute stroke,the level of high sensitivity C-reactive protein in all patients increased significantly at the first day of the onset.In the survival group,with the disease improvement,the blood pressure was controlled,neurological function recovered and high sensitivity C-reactive protein decreased gradually.In death group,the level of high sensitivity C-reactive protein showed a rising trend with the deterioration of neurological function,which showed a statistic difference compared with the survival group(P0.05).There were no statistic differences in the changes of blood pressure,Chinese Stroke Scale,blood biochemical tests and high sensitivity C-reactive protein between infarction group and hemorrhage group(P0.05).Conclusion The dynamic changes of high sensitivity C-reactive protein can be used to predict the clinical outcome and prognosis of acute stroke.
