Abstract

Objective: To investigate the level of serum high sensitivity C-reactive protein (Hs-CRP) with mycoplasma pneumonia in children. Methods: Serum Hs-CRP were measured from 42 cases of mycoplasma pneumonia and 30 healthy children. The level of anti-mycoplasma pneumonia was also measured before and after treatment with the group of mycoplasma pneumonia. Results: Hs-CRP in the group of mycoplasma pneumonia in the acute phase is significantly higher than the normal control group (P 0.01=. Furthermore, Hs-CRP of patients appeared significantly earlier than their anti-Mycoplasma pneumonia. Conclusion: For children with pneumonia, the conventional laboratory tests should be included of Hs-CRP and anti-mycoplasma pneumonia. To avoid misdiagnosis and to improve the treatment, we must observe them all particularly the time when there have been positive results with Hs-CRP but the anti-mycoplasma pneumonia not yet.
