Abstract

Objective To investigate the clinical and pathological features of hepatits B virus associated glomerulonephritis(HBV-GN).Methods The clinical and pathological type of Fourty-two cases seen in our hospital from 1984 March to March 2006 with HBV-GN diagnosed by renal biopsy were investigated retrospectively. Results Among fourty-two patients with HBV-GN diagnosed by renal biopsy, nephrotic syndrome was the the most common clinical manifestation(69.1%),followed by nephritic syndrom(26.2%) and asymptomatic hematuria with or without the presence of proteinuria(11.9%).In this study, renal biopsy data showed that membranous nephropathy(MN) was the most frequent type(66.7%),followed by mesangial proliferative glomerulonephritis(MsPGN,23.8 %).In the patients with HBVGN,electron-dense deposits were found in mesangium area under EM.Immunofluorescence microscope(IF) result showed variety immune complex deposits in mesangium area. Conclusion Because the clinical manifestation type and histopathologic expression of HBV-GN is complicated,it is not easy to accurately diagnosis HBV-GN.Renal biopsy should be perform in order to diagnosis HBV-GN correctly.
