Abstract
Objective To investigate the in vitro effects of docetaxel on proliferation and apoptosis of cultured human endometrial adenocarcinoma Ishikawa cells. Methods Human endometrial adenocarcinoma Ishikawa cells were cultured in vitro and treated with different concentration of docetaxel for 48 h respectively;MTT assay and flow cytometry were used to measure the effects of docetaxel on cell proliferation and cell cycle. Results Docetaxel inhibited cell proliferation of cultured Ishikawa cells in a dose dependent manner(P 0.05).Docetaxel blocked the cell cycle in G1-S period and increased the rates of cell apoptosis in a dose dependent manner(P 0.05).Conclusion Docetaxel is effective for inhibiting the growth of endometrial adenocarcinoma Ishikawa cells. This anti-neoplastic effect may function through cell cycle arrest in G1-S period and increased cell apoptosis.
