Abstract
Objective To investigate the inhibition effects of artesunate on the human endometrial carcinoma cells(Ishikawa). Methods The proliferation, apoptosis and cell cycle were detected by MTT and FCM,respectively, after Ishikawa cells were treated by artessunate at different concentrations. Results Artesunate significantly inhibited the proliferation of ishikawa cells with the IC50 of 45.063μmol/L,induced cell apoptosis with the maximal apoptosis rate 58.31%,and arrested the cell cycle in G1 phase at low concentration and in G2 phase at 100μmol/L.The apoptotic peak was observed in the point of 24 h at 25μmol/L.Conclusion Artesunate could inhibit cellular growth and facilitate the inducing of apoptosis via modulating cell cycle, which may be an effective clinical treatment to endometrial carcinoma.
