Abstract

Objective:To investigate the effects of curcumin on proliferation and apoptosis of human ovarian cancer cell line HO-8910 in vitro. Methods: The human ovarian cancer cell line HO-8910 was cultured to logarithm growing period and treated with curcumin of different concentration(5μmol/L、10μmol/L、20μmol/L、40μmol/L、80μmol/L).The inhibition rates of cells were detected through MTT assay;the apoptosis rates of cells was tested by flow cytometry;the expression of PCNA in HO-8910 cell was observed by SABC imunohistochemistry. Results:Curcumin inhibited the proliferation of HO-8910 cells in a dose-and time-dependent manner. The tumor cell apopotic rate in curcumin group was significantly higher than those in control group. The expression of PCNA was increased in a dose dependent manner. Conclusion:The curcumn not only inhibits proliferation, but also induces apoptosis of human ovarian cancer cell line HO-8910.
