Fostering students' competence of communicative strategies in English

The most essential function of a language is the social communicative function.And the most fundamental purpose of foreign language teaching is to foster students' communicative competence which communicative strategies are intended to serve.In English teaching,the teacher should introduce the contents of communicative strategies to the students,teach the students corresponding skills to overcome language barriers,pay much attention to creating an authentic classroom setting,apply the teaching materials originated from the life and try not to overuse communicative strategies so as to attain the goal of fostering the students' communicative competence.
