Abstract
The purpose of the communicative approach to language acquisition is to foster the appropriate communicative competence of students. The teaching principles of communicative approach should be introduced into college English teaching. Students should be taken as the center of classroom teaching and the linguistic practice of students should be emphasized. That is the fundamental guarantee to develop the communicative competence of college students.
