To solve the problem of high consumption but low efficiency in primary English teaching,we should abide by the fundamental principle of instruction.Some countermeasures must be adopted as follows:The completeness of English teaching goals should be stressed,and integration of teaching models is also imperative to spark the students' awareness of participation;Teachers' roles should be adjusted to perfect students' independent learning system,promoting students' effective participation.
