Abstract
Objective To study the therapeutic effect of edaravone in treatment of cerebral infarction. Methods Fouty-eight patients with cerebral infarction(PCI) were randomly divided into edaravone group(n=24) and control group (n=24). The neurological defect scoring system wea used before and after treatment to evaluate the patients'responses to edaravone. The blood and biochemistry parameters were also evaluated. Results In edaravone group the therapeutic effect(83.4%) was significantly greater than that of control group(58.2%). In edaravone group the neurological defect scoring was also significantly improved(P0.01). There was no significant difference in blood and biochemistry berween the two groups (P0.05). Conclusions Edaravone can reduce neurological deficit of acute cerebral infarction. Its clinical application is effective, safe and convenient.
