Embodied Cognition and Embodied Metaphor

Embodied cognition is one of the most important and representative research orientations in cognition during the background of the rising of 2nd generation of cognition.By advocating the indivisibility of body,movements and situations during the whole cognition process,embodied cognition abandons the congenital deficiencies of body-mind separation in the traditional cognitive science.Metaphor is only a kind of language phenomenon for a long time appearing in linguistic research.However,the metaphor as an essential way of thinking has attracted more and more attention by the embodied trend. With the emerging of metaphor's embodied and cognitive functions,the embodied and dynamic nature of metaphor in cognitive process also attaches more attention.Currently the experiments combining with embodied cognition is the major way in research of metaphor function,and centralizes in the related research of emotion,perception and body-position.
