Treatment and analysis of 36 non-invasive fungal rhinosinusitis by endoscopic sinus surgery

Abstract

Objective:To discuss the treatment of non-invasive fungal rhinosinusitis by endoscopic sinus surgery(ESS). Methods:Endocsopic sinus surgery was performed on 36 patients with non-invasive fungal rhinosinusitis.No antifungal agent was used postoperatively.Results:All of the 36 cases were cured.None of them relapsed during the follow up of 6 months to 3 years.Conclusion:The minimally invasive endoscopic sinus surgery can thoroughly eliminate the disease and establish enough sinus drainage and ventilation.ESS is the ideal treatment for non-invasive fungal rhinosinusitis.
