Present situation,problems and measures for Jiangsu wetland conservation

Large areas of wetlands in Jiangsu province provide abundant wild fauna and flora resources,mineral resources,water resources and landscape resources as the important material foundation for the social and economic development of Jiangsu province.According to the results of Jiangsu wetland inventory,this article analyzed the present situation and essential characteristics of wetland resources including the wetland type,area,distribution,flora and fauna resources,etc.,and discussed the present problems and threats of wetland conservation.Finally,the measures of formulating scientific plans for wetland conservation and sustainable utilization,accelerating wetland conservation legislation process and establishing wetland eco-compensation mechanism were proposed for solving problems in the wetland conservation process of Jiangsu province.
