On Transcending the Thinking Pattern of Cultural Dualism between Tradition and Modernity

In the modernization process of traditional Chinese culture, well-accepted thinking pattern of cultural dualism between tradition and modernity has interrupted the succession of the outstanding Chinese tradition now. A comparison between the two interpreting ways of Chinese cultural modernization, extrinsic impact theory and internal continuity theory, indicates the latter one should be the best way to explore traditional Chinese cultural changes in view of concrete historical circumstances.
