Abstract

By analyzing and criticizing various long-standing mistaken ideas,the author mulls over the relationship between tradition and modernity,the real meaning of traditional culture and the essence of modernization. Accompanying rapid development of Chinese contemporary city and architecture, how should we treat the tradition and the modernity properly, and how could one harmonize with another? The author attempts to find the answer to the questions.
