Abstract

From the perspectives of history and logic, modernization in Chinese people's opinion consists of two essential elements: one is the criticizing and surpassing of the traditional moral culture, and the other is the gaining of the spiritual essence of modernity. This article is a review and analysis of the connotation of traditional moral culture and the spiritual essence of modernity. Revealing the heterogeneous conflict between modernity and traditional Chinese moral culture, it aims to inspire more profound thinking on modernization of the Chinese people.
