Abstract
Objective To appaise the significance of changes in peripheral blood IL-12 level of patients with multiple trauma and multiple organ dysfunction syndrome. Methods IL-12 levels were determined dynamically using the ELISA technique in patients with multiple trauma on day 1, 3, 7, 14 during hospitalization. Results The IL-12 levels in patients with multiple trauma were higher after injury. The IL-12 levels at every time period days in patients complicated with MODS were higher than those in uncomplicated patients. Conclusion The dynamic determination of IL-12 levels is useful in judging the severity of injury, whether or not complicating with MODS in patients with multiple trauma.
