As he has created a legend,Chang Yao would also like to express his thought via legends in pursuit of some universality and transcendence,so in other words,Chang Yao himself,his poems and his conduct have constituted a distinctive spiritual phenomenon quite distinct from other persons.In this sense,Chang Yao is a mirror which reflects not only his own contradictions and feebleness but also the complexity and dubiousness of common people.It is at the spiritual level that we can not just simply eulogize or belittle a poet but discern a person's limitations and freedom,and above all observe our own limitations and freedom.
