Efficacy of narrow-band UVB combined with Halometasone Cream in the Treatment of Vitiligo

Abstract

Objectives: To observe the clinical efficacy of the narrow-band ultraviolet UVB(NB-UVB)radiation combined with halometasone cream in the treatment of vitiligo.Methods: Forty-seven patients with vitiligo were given NB-UVB treatment combined with external administration of halometasone cream for three months.The therapeutic effects and safety were then evaluated.Results: Among the 47 patients,11 got full recovery and 26 showed obvious improvement.The total effective rate(78.7%) was much higher than that(45.5%) of the control group.In addition,no adverse effects were found with this treatment plan.Conclusion: The partial irradiation of NB-UVB combined with external use of halometasone cream is found to be safe and effective in therapeutic efficacy,and to be easy and simple in its application for the treatment of vitiligo.
