Abstract
The main direction of study in genomics has been transferred from structural genomics to functional ge-nomics which focuses on elucidating the function of genes.In functional genomics ear,the study of gene function will also transfer from single genes to studying all genes.This article reviews the content and research methods of functional genomics,including:differential display reverse transcription ploymerase chain reaction (DDRT-PCR),serial analysis of gene expression(SAGE),microarrays,genetic footprinting,reverse genetics,proteomics,bioinformatics.
