Enalapril and metoprolol in treatment of heart failure

Objective To observe clinical effect of angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitors(ACEI)-enalapril and selective β-blocker-metoprolol in treatment of heart failure.Methods 60 patients were randomly divided into two groups,including control group(30 cases) and treatment group(30 cased).Besides routine treatments,control group gave isosorbide dinitrate and digoxin,whereas treatment group gave enalapril and metoprolol.Before and after treatment by NYHA classification,left ventricular end diastolic diameter(LVEDD),left ventricular end systolic diameter(LVESD),ejection fraction(EF) and A/E ratio were detected with color Doppler echocardiography to evaluated the heart function.Results Treatment group was improved more obviously in diastolic diameter and ejection fraction than that in control group.Conclusion Enalapril and metoprolol is a useful drug for cardiac insufficiency.
