Abstract

Objective To investigate the level of serum vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF) in patients with non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC) and relationship with the clinical stage and pathological type. Methods The concentrations of serum VEGF were measured by ELISA respectively in 96 patients with NSCLC and 40 patients with benign lung diseases as well as 30 healthy persons served as control. Results The level of serum VEGF in patients with NSCLC was more than other two groups significantly(P0.01).It was also increased with the stage of lung cancer significantly(P0.05).But it had no significant difference between different pathological type(P0.05).Conclusion The level of serum VEGF in patients with NSCLC was increased significantly.Different pathological type of NSCLC had no influence on it.The changes of it can be helpful for us to predict the prognosis and treatment effects in patients with NSCLC.
